Meditation

Hello all,

Never underestimate the power of meditation!

It is something I can not live without now as a parent. I used to do it quite a bit when growing up and then faded out of doing it. However, I got right back into when I had my sweet daughter.

Meditation is just time to yourself, for 5, 10, 20 minutes! Very, very precious in the world of parenthood if you have one or more children to get that time to yourself.

I found pre parenthood though that it helped with anxiety or any stress that I was struggling with at a particular time.

I frequently use the app ‘Calm’. There is a limited amount for free to use by anyone who gets the app or you can sign up for their prescription to get full use of the app.

Treat yourself to 5 minutes. You won’t regret that time to yourself.

If it is your first time meditating, give it time. It is a little tough to switch off and allow yourself that time but it is so worth it later on.

Activities

Good evening readers, hope you have all had a good day!

Firstly, if there is any particular topic you would like me to talk about, please leave a comment or send me an email!

I am going to talk today about a couple of hobbies we do with our baby.

The main thing we try to do with her weekly is swimming. I feel her confidence in water is important for when she’s older. We live near beaches so it is inevitable she will be going there with family and eventually friends when she is old enough.

I want her to be comfortable in the water but also be safe in the water as it is so easy things can turn bad.

Going for walks is another thing we do when we can. I find that times together doing any activity is great for them to give them variety in their little lives.

We also like to go soft play indoor areas. I find one of the best things for her social skills. She isn’t in a creche or playgroup so the interaction with the other children that are playing there is so interesting for us to watch her. She has cousins who are a similar age to her, but there’s something about the way she looks at children she has never met before that is really interesting.

I am by no means any more qualified than you reading this in childhood studies, I am just saying what I think is beneficial for my child.

The Journey Begins

Thanks for joining me!

I’m 22 and a Mother to my beautiful daughter. She’s one years old and full of energy! I feel so lucky to have such a happy and healthy daughter.

I thought I should start this site to help people out who are in a similar situation as me. I fell pregnant at 20 in my first year of college. My baby is a summer baby so it worked out for me to continue on studying. I think however, no matter what age you are, parenting is hard. Pregnancy comes across as such a daunting process of the unknown, of what is to come. So regardless of whether your 18 reading this or 40, we are all on the same parenting ship.

This is going to about parenting, hobbies, education, food, work and other topics that may randomly spring to mind.

Hope you enjoy x
